Student Internship Program

Student Internship Program

The goal of the Student Internship Program is to ultimately expand the administrative and research capacity of the MN-S Ministry of Environment, utilizing the talent and skills of Métis students who are enrolled in science and research based fields in an accredited post-secondary institution.

Students will be linked to the various programs housed by the Ministry of Environment such as: the Indigenous Guardians Program, the Carbon Pricing - Navigators Initiative and the Community Based Climate Monitoring Initiative (CBCM).

Students will also collaborate with selected environmental firms and companies in order to experience and learn how to execute front-line research techniques and methods.

The Student Internship Program was designed to expose Indigenous students to various activities specific to emergency response planning, Indigenous engagement processes, and environmental monitoring.  All activities are grounded in science, Indigenous knowledge and local Métis perspectives.
